O'Neal was raised in Wichita Falls, Texas. Her first son Myles Nelson, was born on May 8, 1997. On December 26, 2002, she married NBA player Shaquille O'Neal at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Before and during their marriage, the couple had four children: Shareef Rashaun (b. 2000), Amirah Sanaa (b. 2001), Shaqir Rashaun (b. 2003), and Me’arah Sanaa (b. 2006), and Shaq has a daughter, Taahirah, with his former girlfriend Arnetta Yardbourgh. Shaquille and Shaunie O'Neal separated after five years of marriage on September 4, 2007, but reconciled shortly after.
