Amanda Carter-Zegarowski (born January 20, 1971) is a former collegiate basketball player and former head coach for the Ipswich High School girls' basketball team. Zegarowski was a star basketball player at Salem State. She is the mother of current NBA player Michael Carter-Williams.

Biography

Zegarowski graduated from Salem State College with a degree in communications. She began her coaching career in 1993 as an instructor of youth clinics at the Hamilton Recreation Center. Carter went on to coach the JV Girls’ Basketball team at Hamilton Wenham High School before being appointed the Girls’ Varsity Basketball Coach at Ipswich High School.

During her tenure at Ipswich, Carter led the Tigers to ten straight state tournament appearances. The Tigers won the league title seven times under Carter’s direction. A four time CAL Coach of the Year winner, she was also named the Massachusetts North Coach of the year.

Most recently, Carter founded A-Z Sports Management, LLC, a managing and consulting company for professional athletes and businesses. She has also established MCW Starz LLC., a comprehensive basketball program evolving out of Mass Hoop Elite. Carter has consulted many families through college recruiting process and provided parents and student athletes with the information needed to make an informed college placement decision.

Family

While in college, she dated former Salem State University men's basketball player Earl Williams. In her sophomore year of college, she got pregnant with their child. Their son, Michael Carter-Williams, was born on October 10, 1991. In 1992, she began dating Zach Zegarowski and they got married in 1996. The couple have three children (Masey, Marcus, and Max). All four children currently playing basketball: Michael is a member of the Houston Rockets, Masey plays point guard for Bryant University, Marcus plays point guard for Creighton University and Max plays shooting guard for Lynn University. Through Michael, she has one granddaughter Charleigh.
