Aaliyah Christine Roberson (born November 9, 2003) is an American basketball player for the TCU Horned Frogs of the Big 12 Conference.
Personal Life[]
Roberson comes from a family of athletes. Both of her parents John and Lisa were All-Americans in their respective sports during college at State. Her mother is white and her father is African-American. She has six siblings: Ashlee, Amber, André, Arielle, Anthony, and Arianna. All six are current or former athletes:Ashlee played basketball at Texas Tech; Amber played volleyball at University of Texas; André plays basketball for Oklahoma City Blue; Arielle played basketball at Colorado University; Anthony is a member of the Oklahoma City Blue and Arianna plays basketball for Clark High School.
High School[]
Roberson played volleyball and basketball at Clark High School in San Antonio, Texas and was a member of the National Honor Society. As a senior, she averaged 11.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 43 assists and 51 blocks, making the San Antonio Express-News Super Team. She helped lead the team to the state tournament appearance for the second year in a row and hitting over 40% of her three-point attempts. During the state tournament, Roberson hit eight three-pointers in one game to set the state tournament record. ESPN graded her as a five star recruit, their highest ranking.
College career[]
As a freshman, Roberson played in 23 of the team's 30 games. She averaged 8.3 points per game good enough for third place among all conference freshmen. In her game against Butler she scored 19 points, hitting five of eight three-pointers which earned her the Big 12 Freshman of the Week award. She hit 85% of her free throws for the season.
